my Purpose

I want to share a story with you all:

Last year I was given the opportunity to publicly speak at my Alma Mater, Art Institute of Houston, and at the Inaugural Texas Black Interiors Designer Conference. Those experiences were priceless! To pore into someone and for them to say you inspire me 😅😍little ol me!!  Makes me appreciate the highs and lows of my journey that much more.

My business journey started simply because no one would hire me. I know some of you are like well it’s you..,but no honestly! I was at my job since 2010 no gabs. I've worked my way up from a temporary mail carrier to a career supervisor. I’ve also been an Acting Manager for a couple stations and was on track to getting my own, BUT realize this isn’t for me. During that same time I completed a Bachelor’s Degree and STILL no one would give me the chance. I’ve continued my education working as a intern, taking workshops, and briefly started my master’s program🤯 I’ve prayed, had anyone and everyone look over my resume, cover letters, and LinkedIn. A dear friend even set up a meeting for me with a register interior designer 💚 she just doesn’t know much that meant to me! It’s just not in my cards. I’ve never wanted my own company, or so I told myself! My love for Weddings and Interiors I couldn’t let die. They say if you’ll do it for free, then you’ve found your passion, your niche, but ultimately your purpose. At one point I was taking vacation leave from my job at the USPS to intern for an event planner.

I say all this to say take a chance on you and trust your journey. You’re in a race all by yourself, don't let social media or anyone tell you this journey is easy. Know everything is intended for YOUR purpose. My high-school broadcasting & college public speaking classes paid off last year I like to think. I can freely speak without all the umm's and ahhh's publicly. Everything we ever do is intentional and for YOUR purpose. There's a fire buring on the inside of you, like there's one for me. Go at it with all you have! In the end it will all pay off.
